Business Use of Social Media

Business Week

This article promotes the use of social media in business activity. The use of social media allows businesses to directly target the market they are hoping to make an impression on. Along with targeting a particular market these tools will also aid in company globalization in their marketing strategy. Time consumption is a major issue looked at by companies concerning using social media as a marketing tool. The article uses the example of lowering the amount of cold calling and increasing social media presence to save time and labor of the callers. Lowering cold calling can also help in making a larger global impression since translating advertisements is easier than translating cold calls to whatever language is necessary. Having a corporate blog or advertising to particular markets through social media sites would be efficient in relaying a company’s goals mission and give them an outlet to reach their customers. What will happen to the people making the cold calls? This business tactic is smart and cost effective but the current employees employed to do these types of calls and market outreach would most certainly be negatively impacted.

Social media awareness is on the rise the differences from 2007 to 2008 are impressive.
